 Post subject: New sol owner much help needed

ok i just traded a mazda miata for a 93 del sol si the previous owner decided to remove the motor since it was over heating (not check the thermostat hot look at the hoses or the fan) just hey its over heating lets pull the motor so he pulls it get over whelmed and has it sitting in his garage for 2 years until i came along and even trade now i have about 400 parts in my living room and i have no idea what to do long story short i just bought a clean motor from a junk yard and the transmission the guy gave me along with the pieces of motor came with a extra plate its round it has holes in it ,the sides have flat spots on them the bottom end of the motor has the clutch on it and the fly wheel too any ideas? do i need a new transmission i am slowly getting over my head and fast

Yea Welcome to Teamsolva Like EG said it sounds like the fly wheel but post some pics and we might have a better idea our resident mac. Joe might know as well once he see's it.

i thought about that but there is no teeth for the starter to grab onto pressure plate mabey? i looked up pressure plate on google and its not that when i got the motor block it already had the clutch attached to it i don't have a camera to take a pic of it but its a little smaller with out teeth and a little thinner than a fly wheel too its bolted to the motor now i have everything together and it sounds ok when i turn the axles but im skeptical about installing the motor and then realizing that it should have been installed im going out to get a new head gasket tomorrow ill probably run by the dealer and ask them anybody in Richmond?

so i found out the plate its to a automatic transmission i guess when the guy gave me a few extra parts but thanks for the help guys its the part that attaches to the torque converter
